My internet was having problems. I called tech support a few times then I called the cable company and talked with an old friend of my husbands. They were out the next day to fix my problem.
I suggest calling cablevision and getting a receptionist, then telling them what the problem is. They should fix it.
I also thought there was a package for just internet for like 30 bucks.

I have the same problems Cheyenne. I know its not my computer - I've never had a problem with my computer. I have had cable or dsl for years on this computer - and never had the problems I have now. I live a few streets over from you. I get dropped several times throughout the day, and have found that many times my connection is as slow as phone connections I've had in the past. I've even thought seriously about getting a phone line, and dropping Limestone - since the connection would be about the same, and cheaper.

We live just a little ways from Buckner St. too and our internet is also horrible.
It goes down several times a day and is usually off an hour at a time. Sometimes it is very slow. I have called the cable office and they have come out several times but it never helps. The last couple times they have just told us to go out and unscrew the cable from the wall and wait a few minutes and plug it back up. They said it is some type of surge that is affecting it back. My neighbor said said she has the same problem. Our tv picture is even bad, the channels are fuzzy and some even say poor signal.

Service in Rectorville, is always bad we can go days at a time with fuzzy tv channels and internet goes off all the time. The "Digital TV" is a waste of money it hardly ever stays on . With the price they charge we should never get droped from internet, cable or digital tv .

I have Windstream phone, dish and internet and have little trouble with my internet. My dish will sometime go out when it is storming but usually don't stay off long. My internet has went off once in two years.

I've been investigating problems I have for months. There was other threads about this, and one in which I explained all I did that might help.

I reciently had them come out, and put both internets on their own seperate lines, and the TV on a 3rd. Seems to helped, but I haven't had enough time to see the effects.

It seems that when it was installed, they had 1 or 2 connections split 7 ways. So now both internets are on their own seperate feeds, and the TV is on a 3rd and it's split along 4 TVs, with no problems.

You may ask them to put the internet on a seperate feed. But one thign to remember. Cable is a shared line, so that may be one problem; they've put too many people on a too small a circuit.

They did the same for me.

I hate to hear all of the problems. Our Cable is awful. Some of the the channels are so fuzzy you can't watch them. They say they can fix our problem for about $1200. We just rent I will deal with the fuzzies. However since we got our tuner not had the fuzzy channels just HD problems and DVR. Called them Friday, They told me how to record things. It didn't work. I just reworked the mess from behind my Tv. Think that fixed my problem. Too many game systems and too much other junk plugged in.

Same here, seems to always be having problems with both. The picture quality is terrible, really like the wavy colored lines some nights! In the past they are always sending out the email for maintance and I keep hoping they will update their equipment or whatever it will take but they just keep adding more people on the lines . Had the same problem when I called them about problems they would always say "when will you be home so we can send a tech out to check the computer." I finally told them just to check the outside pole and house connections and if that didn't fix the problem I would call back and set up a time for them to come, they haven't been in my house in over 2 years. It's always on their end.

I live on Central Ave..And have the same problems! I have called several times and every time they say everything is working fine over the phone. Uh, sorry but how can you tell me how my internet is working when your not even here.. I told them that I never had a problem until about 6 months or so ago and they keep telling me its because more people are using the service and I need to upgrade and pay a higher price. Dont think so!

Boy i remember those days of Cable Internet allways when you need it it don`t work . But not anymore i have At&t Dsl have had it for allmost 2 years and no problems got the cheapest package at 19.95 768k and i can check it with any bandwith tester and it is allways right there. You can get standalone dsl now with no home phone so why waste your money and time on cable.
