Eugene Bramel

Eugene A. Bramel, 83, of Arrington Avenue died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the St. Joseph Hospice Center in Lexington. He was the widower of Wilma Rankin Bramel who died February 1, 2008. Mr. Bramel was born in Mason County on November 4, 1926 the son of the late Herman and Ruth Parson Bramel. Mr. Bramel was a member of the First Christian Church where he was active in the choir and had just received his 50 year membership pin in the Maysville Masonic Lodge and was active in the Olieka Shrine Temple. He was a graduate of Orangeburg High School. Gene retired after 35 years with Emerson Power Transmission Co. at the age of 62. He is survived by one brother Arthur (Venita) Bramel of Columbus Ohio, a brother-in-law Harry (Phyllis) Rankin and a sister-in-law Phyllis Carpenter, all of Maysville and several nieces and nephews including Kevin Carpenter of Maysville and Larry Bramel of Columbus Ohio. Funeral services for Gene Bramel will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Knox & Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Jyn Lesher officiating. Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Carpenter, Larry Bramel, William Umstead, Bob Emmons, Mark Heminger and Ronnie Lyons. Honorary Bearers will be Winn Turner and Dr. Phillip Yunker. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of service Saturday. The Masonic Rites will be said at 2:00 PM Saturday
