Barktoberfest

Barktoberfest was a fundraiser for Friends of Noah Animal Rescue.

The event was held on October 10th and 11th, and FFA members and Animal Science students volunteered and set up a bake sale to raise money.

The money raised for FFA will go to FFA school events, field trips, conferences and banquets.

Barktoberfest brought together different dog breeds and provided such services for dogs as nail clips, micro-chipping, and free veterinary exams. There...

When 2-year-old Sakari Thomas of Tulsa went missing from a family outing at Oologah Lake a month ago, there was no shortage of volunteers to search for her. There were 100 volunteers using boats, helicopters, four-wheelers and two legs combing the area.

But it was two fellows on horseback — father and son Chub and Chaz Brewer — who were able to comb the dense terrain, find the frightened toddler and carry her back to safety.

Police teach clinic

Here is a link to the Mounted Patrol Clinic held in Lexington today. Several horses, a very large donkey and a mule attended. The clinic was held at Masterson Station Park.

Sensory Training Clinic presented by The Friends of the Lexington Mounted Police, Inc. Masterson Station Park, Lexington, KY. The clinic (appropriate all riding disciplines) provides training for desensitizing horses to noise, crowds, and obstacles. Clinicians: Lexington Mounted Police Officers David Johnson and Lisa Rakes. The clinic also includes and equitation session with Johanna Consolver.
