Well now that I have seen the paper I am going to assume its about the guy who walks for his faith?

Imagine the things he has seen while doing this.

Yesterday my employee and friend Angela was on her way to my house for work. She call and told me of a very interesting man she had just passed on US 62. She also said she had turned her car around after passing him and went back to ask if it was ok for her to take his picture. With a smile on his face he answered “sure”. Angela told him thank you and he replied “God Bless You”.

As soon as Angela got to my house and showed me his picture, a warm blessing feeling went right through my body. I told my hubby Bill that he needed to find this man and take him some food and to see if there was anything else he needed. About 10 minutes later, I had finish making a food package and Bill and Angela was on their way out the door.

As they traveled down US 62 there was the gentleman still walking a slow pace towards US 68.

My hubby stopped and the gentleman walked right over to the trucks driver window. Bill told him what Angela had told us about him, and said “my wife sent me to give you this food package she made for you”...the man smiled and quickly put it in his side bag. The gentleman reached out his hand and introduced his self as “Pilgrim George”.

Bill and Angela talk with Pilgrim George for almost 30 minutes...George told them of how he has walked 38,000 miles starting in 1970 and that he has walked in 41 countries...he talked of his faith and how God blesses him with all his needs...my hubby talked with him about God and faith to a strong extent, before departing Bill ask George if I would be ok if “my wife” called the Ledger so they could do a story on his journey. With a smile and a wink he said “that would be just fine”.

I called the Ledger and they had said that they have been wanting to do a story on “Pilgrim George” for sometime, but wasn't sure where to find him...”I said he was coming down US 62 and would be heading towards Maysville on US 68”.

I called my step-father (he is a preacher) and told him about George...he found him walking down US 68 between Kmart and Wendy's. He stopped George and ask him if he could buy him lunch at Wendy's...George smiled and said “sure brother that will be just fine,”they talked for a while. The Ledger reporter showed up at Wendy's and my step-father and George shook hands and wished each well and God Bless.

My husband and I were talking this morning about Pilgrim George...I told him...once in a while you may meet a person that can profoundly change your life forever and my husband agreed that George was the one in his life time....even thro I didn't get the honor to meet George in person, I see how it has effected my husband, and some of the issues he was having about faith...Pilgrim George has blessed me with his faith and the love he has for God.....I have and will stay in contact with Pilgrim George, he is that profound person I speak of....

I saw him yesterday afternoon at the top of 68 hill...I wondered about him,
truly felt sorry for him, so was very relieved to read about him in the Ledger this morning....I too would have stopped if it had been possible, but was coming off the top of old 68, and he had already passed by there....I was really glad to learn about him, and what he was doing....

This makes a great story... would be nice to have more things like this in our papers, and on the news! My hubby saw him walking through Bentonville (down 41 between Aberdeen & West Union), he definitely picked a good area to get food & things he needs.. lots of Christians out here.

I find it amazing! The amount of people he has inspired and what a great way to see the world. The things he has seen in his travels and the different people he has met... Wow

My family saw him out on the hill also. He looked really hot in his coat.
I hope he has a safe journey. Maybe West Union will do a write up on him in their paper next week.
