Our church will be putting a float in the Brown County Fair parade this year and I need some ideas! The theme is "A Picture Perfect Fair", but we don't really have to use that theme. Anyone have any ideas?

Just a thought but to go with the church and fair themes. What about a live nativity and call it the first baby show!!!

I like Flame's idea but here is one more. Do a spin off of "Charlotte's Web" and have a real live Wilbur, complete with Fern, a spider web that spells some catchy phrase, etc....

Have you been on interstate 75 between Cincy and Dayton? Their is this massive statue of Jesus that looks like it was carved out of butter. I think a comedian has a song about it called big butter Jesus.
Maybe you could do a paper machey and paint it yellow.

This is to easy..
Bengal have a couple of little "scenes" on the float of people taking pictures of themselves at the fair and you could do it in old time-y costumes with fake old cameras on tripods..
1) Eating fair food
2) Taking pictures of a pagent winner
3) Getting a blue ribbon
It will take some acting on the part of those on the float but it would be so cool!

I was thinking on the same wave length as Kytransplant, what better way to say a picture perfect fair, than with a old time fair. Have a gentleman saying come one come all to the county fair, things like that it would be cool, just my thoughts.

Wow, I'm impressed! These are some really great ideas! I'm not sure how many people we will have helping, so it would just depend on how many of the church people are going to help out. I will let them know about all of these ideas, and hopefully we can be able to figure something out! Thanks!

Well, “A picture perfect fair” could work out on a number ways. I would start off with a bunch of pictures of the church, with information on the back with the times of serves, and hand them out along the parade rout.
I would them give a number of people on the float video cameras, and at the end edit the best together and put it on YouTube.
As for the float it self, I make sing that read: “WWJD” , or “God is witching us”
That my thoughts. Have fun at the fair, I will be with the 70th OVR Civil War group.

Thanks Magees, that's a good idea too! I just found out that the theme is actually "Picture Perfect" so I don't really have to go with a fair theme. That helps a lot!

I heard this on the radio sometime back and I saw it a few months ago.

I have seen "big butter Jesus" many times traveling that stretch of interstate. My kids and I know the song and sing it often. Heywood Banks is a hoot. We also like "Toast". We watch BBJ on you tube way more than we should. "Oleo O"
