I am looking for memories or pictures of The Little Chef Restaurant when it opened in downtown. It was in the 50's when it opened and was located to the right of the Maysville Flower Shop. It was moved to Plumville in the early 70's and my parents opened it from 1979-1998. It is trying to be restored to what it origionally looked like. The museum or library does not have much information. If anyone has pictures or information about it, please post.
Thank's
Lora

Must have opened in late 1957, 1958 or 1959. I left June 1957 and it wasn't there then

I'm thinking it looked like a trailer only rounded edges and the slushy sign out front. I remember where is sat and going there. There seems to me a long bar rounded at the end and red stools. I couldn't have been about 7 or 8 years old. sorry

I only have a picture of my aunt sitting in a booth at the Little Chef.....not much help since she was in front of the big window. I'll look for it if you like and make a copy. It's in black & white.

I remember those days very well, but don't have any photo's. It did sit where Osborne Ins. is located now and had a big tree in the front by 2nd. street. The door was on the side near the middle. I was told at one time it was a railway diner. Don't know if that is true or not. How is the renovation progressing. I understand Phil Day is going to re-open it.

I know Phil bought it because he bought it from my parents. I can tell him everything he needs to know about it in Plumville, but he wants origional information when it was in Maysville, and he can't find much on it...

Maybe you could call the comment line in the paper and ask for information or pictures. Don't know if you can leave a phone number in the comment line or not. Maybe the newspaper has some old pictures of it.
