I have a maple tree in my yard which I don't want to cut. Over the past few years it has become a haven for roosting birds. They ruin my driveway, my flowerbeds, and my vehicle. I have tried an owl, pinwheels and rubber snakes. They got wise to all of these. Does anyone have any suggestions about getting rid of them. I live in town, so shooting at them is out of the question.
If anyone has a tree climbing pit bull, I would not mind borrowing it for avian attacks.

I would let you borrow my pit but he would probably just make friends with the birds. Thats no joke. I have had baby birds fall out of nest that he has allerted me to!!! I also had a dove lay an egg on a garden decoration well within his reach and he never made an attempt to kill it even after it hatched he would just look at it from a distance.

Try sling shots, or blow guns. LOL I dont know how to remove birds from a tree. Maybe throw firecrackers at em! Even if you did shoot them others would just take their place. I dont know maybe you could
ban em!!!

I thought having a cat would work, but today I saw black birds encircling the cat. I think the birds have been watching Alfred Hitchcock lately.

Birds don't seem to like the black plastic trash bags. Maybe try tieing a few to the tree branchs where the wind will blow it. What about one of those air horns (I think that's what their called) the ones they use at ballgames and such that are really annoying. Might scare them enough to leave.

My daughter suggested that you put bird seed in your neighbor's yard--haha.

tie something in the branches that make noise

Tie aluminum pie pans fairly close together on tree limbs & the wind will cause them to make enough noise to scare them away.

Ok so it is of the opinon of this group noise will scare them away. Some of the suggestions may seem a little unsightly in the tree I have a suggestion of buy some wind chimes. I however like the idea of bird seed in the neighbors yard or even a few yards down the road.

every night when they start to roost use an air horn or two,,,two or three evenings should cause them to go elsewhere....alert your neighbors ahead of time...

Oh my - I needed that laugh!

We've have hung those aluminum pie plates in our trees before - worked like a charm! Make sure to tie them close enough together to hit but not get entangled with each other.

Place a few moth balls in the branches of the tree, birds can't take the scent of them.

Hang a large rubber snake over a branch, you may have to move it from time to time, it works in my barn.
