Downtown visitors in Maysville are encouraged to stop gathering at Limestone Landing for the fireworks, instead you are asked to watch the display from nearby Rotary Park or leave Maysville and go across the river to Aberdeen Park.
Also, pedestrian traffic on the old bridge will be discouraged due to past problems with items being thrown from the bridge.
If you observe someone igniting or selling illegal fireworks, you are encouraged to call local law enforcement.

The paper didn't say Limestone Landing was closed. It said people are encouraged to watch from elsewhere, presumably for safety reasons. I doubt one little blip in the paper is going to discourage people from gathering there.

They are having a big festival in Aberdeen all day on July 4th. As a matter of fact i have a booth set up there and always have a lot of fun. We stay and watch the fire works. We also sell the glow bracelets and different glow items..

What kinds of things do they have in the booths? I know they have entertainment but what else? Haven't seen a schedule yet for the 4th.

They had a big write up in the paper about the activities in Aberdeen. They have food booths and have a lot of contests. The other booths has things like you would find at the other festivals. I have Balloons for the kids toys and collector knives gloves hats, hand made pillows.. Just a lot of other things..

I thought it was supposed to rain Friday night. Hope not...the fireworks last year was the first I've ever attended downtown and they weren't too bad.

It poured down rain last year too. I remember seeing people running to their cars. Luckily, we were watching the fireworks from our car (since my girls hate the loud noise of them). Hopefully, we won't get rained out this year. :(

Where are you going to park to watch the fireworks? Was kind of wanting to do this also.

That's where we were parked also.
Taffic wasn't too bad. We live close enough to walk, but with the rain we will probaly drive down again. If watching the fireworks from Limestone landing is discouraged, why do they have food booths, set up right in front of the landing?
