If you could trace your ancestors back 20 generations you would find that you have had as many as 4,194,304 sets of grandparents. Start with 4 and double every 30 years.
Wow ! Would be kinda crowded at Thanksgiving....LOL

Too bad none of mine were rich so that I might inherit a fortune, retire early & buy an isolated island somewhere in the tropics. Nope- mine were moonshiners & preachers:) HA!

Years ago, my grandmother asked who I was dating. When I told her, she asked who her parents were. She then starting talking about who was kin to who. She went to Ireland and back with this and came to the conclusion, this girl was my 8th cousin. From family ties in Ireland! Needless to say, I was kinda upset. But grandma said that it was so far back, not to worry about it. But still.....

Oh that's a bunch of baloney. My great, great, great grand parents were first cousins and I turned out all right....all right...all right...all right.........LOL
I knew these Siamese twins. They moved to England, so the other one could drive.
Now that's funny........LOL

Several years ago I started looking into our ancestors. My grandmother told me I might not like what I found. Seems like some of my relatives were not so upstanding. Like Huey there were moonshiners. When I ask her about it all she said was I told you so.

Open a closet door and a bunch of skeletons come tumbling out!
I love it when my Mom will start to tell me a family story, then stop & say 'don't you write this down anywhere'!
This ancestor hunting has been an obsession of mine for over a dozen years & I still wish I had started sooner!

I don't have any ancestors... two box cars bumped together and I fell out of a hobo's butt, at least that is what my dad always told me?

My great great great grandpa was shot to death while holding my great great grandpa on his lap. This was over some horse thievery. And to think, if you trace that family back another generation, that 4ggrandfather fought in the Battle of Blue Licks. How cool is that? What a history! Most of my family were moonshiners, gamblers & horse thieves. The family farm was won & lost in card games. I lead a boring life compared to them..LOL
