My husband and I thought that with the price of gas and other necessities constantly going up and putting a pinch on family budgets, it would be nice if we could come up with free or cheap ideas for families to have fun. Here's one for ya'll.

Girl's Fast-Pitch Softball

Every Mon. and Thurs. night at Wald Park you can watch fast-pitch softball. Mon. nights is the 12 & under league and Thurs. nights is the high school & under league. Games are always double-headers and the first game starts at 5:30. There is no admission fee. You will have to bring lawn chairs with you though, because there are no bleachers. There are concession stands which sell hot dogs, drinks and snacks, but you are more than welcome to bring your own food and drinks if you desire. There are usually games on two fields at the same time so you can choose which game you want to watch. There is the opportunity for foul balls to head towards cars, so please park accordingly.

I do have a couple of favors to ask of anyone who comes. I even hate to bring them up because I feel like they should be obvious, but in this day and age, you just never know. Please do not take offense.

Requests:

1. No alcoholic beverages please.
2. Please be respectful of the umpires and coaches. They are all volunteers.
3. Please be respectful of the players. They are all young people.
4. Please clean up after yourself. The parents & players of the Mason Co. team are the ones who usually have to do the cleaning up of all the trash and after the games are over, we're ready to leave as well.

If you need any more information, feel free to PM me.

Thanks.

Please feel free to come & enjoy!

Any other ideas out there??

Maybe it is me. When was the last time you enjoy your home. What I mean is, when was the last time you did not make a list of things that need to be done, or had some teak phone, video game, lap top, or MP3 shouting at you.
1.When was the last time you sat, and just looked around.
2.You dust around the nick nicks, but when was the last time you looked at them.
3.I bet most ever one has a photo book, when was the last time you look at the old pictures that are inside.
4.How about just going for a walk?
5.Or, acting foolish: go hunt durst bunnies under the bed. Pretend on of them is a killer dust bunny.
6.Jump around the yard sprinkler.
7.Just sat on the porch and talk to your friends as the walked by.
8.When was the last time wrote a letter to some one, using pen and paper?
9.Try to draw, or paint, a picture.
10. Just look at the sky.
11. Go fly a kite (no joke, it fun).
12. Take a nap.
13. Stock up on 4th of July stuff.
14. Plan your Halloween decorations.
15. Go Christmas shopping. (Only 180 to go.)

That all I have to say.:banplease:

How about taking the kids fishing. We go almost every weekend and my 5 year old daughter loves it.

Fishing in my family is a must every weekend, talking about keeping a kid straight, get them involved in it and enjoy it yourself with them, they love to be competitive, I beat them all with my 43 lb. catfish. WOOOHOOOO

One of our favorite things to do when I was a kid was throw a sheet over the clothesline and make a 'tent'. We'd 'camp out' in the backyard with our PB&J sandwiches, crackers, and milk.

Start a game of Kickball in your neighborhood. How long has it been since you've played or even seen anyone else play?

Get a guide from the Chamber of Commerce and take your own walking tour of Maysville. Do the same in Old Washington.

Go on a bicycle ride in your neighborhood.
