Maysville Police Detective Ken Fuller pursued a bad guy to the edge of the 2,000 acre Big Rock ATV park Tuesday before requesting assistance of additional officers.

Officers Jeff Hord and Jason Hord went to the scene and were assisted in the search for a 23-year-old named Joseph Fikes by Misho the police dog.

Also assisting were additional law enforcement officials from the Mason County Sheriff's Department, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife and Orangeburg first responders.

Mr. Frakess was found by Misho, arrested by the officers and transported to the detention center.

The K-9 is trained in narcotics detection, criminal apprehension, building search, tracking and article search.

The Maysville Police Department started the K-9 program in 1976.

Anyone have a picture of Misho, without the growl, lol.

How would you go about getting your dog trained for search and rescue, things like that? I swear this German Shepherd we got from the pound is freakishly smart. It seems a shame not to utilize her abilities in some way.

Thank you Misho for a job well done. Oh and can't leave out Officers Jeff and Jason Hord and Detective Fuller and all of the others who took part in this hunt. Thank you for getting this guy off our streets.

Awesome job to all involved!!
Those K-9s are awesome to watch!!

Misho's training runs into the thousands of dollars... but there are many places that do training. The training I do is more behavioral than this type...
