Google users in the United States will notice today that they "turned the lights out" on the Google.com homepage as a gesture to raise awareness of a worldwide energy conservation effort called Earth Hour.

Earth Hour invites people around the world (http://news.theage.com.au/australia-flicks-switch-for-earth-hour/20080329-22bi.html) to turn off their lights for one hour tonight– from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in their local time zone.

With this winter's high electric bills in Mason County, some people could use a break for an hour.

I was thining of taking the kids to a movie tonight, so kinda hoping Maysville doesn't go dark..lol The Xavier game is on tonight too, so I doubt the sports nuts will be participating in it. Starts at 7 pm.

Depending on what I do tonight, I may take an hour to participate.

I participate in this ritual nightly, with my electric bill screaming at me when it comes out of it's envelope. I can survive without one hour of electric as long as I leave my gas on. LOL
