Hello All, it has been awhile since I posted on here. I am glad to be back. I really need some good ideas on planning my daughters wedding. She wants to do something different from the usual church scene. She was thinking about a wedding by the lake at sunset. What do you think???

My dad and step mom had their wedding at washington park by the lake it was pretty with the foutain in the background of it , but her brother works for the city or something out there and had bleachers down there for everyone to set on and built a little platform over the water just a bit......

Try the Blue Licks State park.. friendly people, beautiful scenery and very inexpensive.. rent 2 rooms, dance floor, use of balcony and under roof back porch.. for less than $200!! They also do catering.... great food!!
My hubby, Tiger, and I are thinking of renewing our vows there...

There's also the River Barn in Manchester. A friend of mine got marrioed there, and the photos turned out beautiful, don't let the area discourage you. They have a good sized area inside, fully furnished, with kitchen. Outside they have a heart trellis that has the Ohio Ribver as a background... pretty impressive. That's where they had their wedding, outside & in front of the trellis. They also furnish chairs for outside, and there's a stage if you want a band. I'm not sure who runs it, but that's where the Nascar guy from Manchester (Jack Roush, I think) always has his parties.

My daughter was married at a ranch somewhere around Brownings Apple Orchard. I can't remember the name but we rented the whole inn and the families stayed the night before. The wedding was behind the inn near a wooded area. The reception was also held there. We also looked at a place near Fairview, there was cottages and a small chapel, It was very nice too. I found a bed and breakfast on the web, while I was looking for the name we were at. It's www.firstfarminn.com/ffihorses.asp, it has wedding packages. Her cake was made by a lady in Paris, Ky. and it consisted of cupcakes tierd. She did a great job and it was very unusual but lovely.
