Rosemary Clooney Street takes you to the train station in Maysville, and Wednesday, workers were adding fresh paint just in case this location is selected for one of the press junkets.

"I think people from Hollywood don't think he has that kind of draw, but we around here know there are 17,000 people in Mason County, and I dare to say most of them would be here," said Mayor Cartmell.

Universal Pictures' premiere of "Leatherheads," is being held at the Grauman's Chinese Theater, located at 6925 Hollywood Boulevard, at 7;30 PM on Monday, March 31, 2008.

George's father says our town will host a special screening of the new movie "Leatherheads."

Nick says the screening is set for next Monday night at the Washington Opera Theatre.

Well, whoop-tee-do.
I would'nt go see him if I got paid, especially after the comment he made several years ago when he heard that Charleton Heston was sick and was stepping down as President of the NRA (National Rifle Association). George made the comment that his sickness served him right for his association with the NRA. That turned me against him right then and I have never watched any of his movies since he made that comment.

I stopped being a fan of Charleston Heston after he showed up in Littleton (site of the Columbine shootings) to hold an NRA rally, shortly after the shootings, eventhough people including the mayor pleaded with him to stay away while people mourned. To me, that's no better than those Kansas quacks that protest at soldier's funerals. It's one thing to support gun ownership (nothing wrong with being a member of the NRA), but seeing a massacre as a good time to hold a rally is just being a jerk. It's sad he got Alzheimer's because I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but he's still a jerk.

George Clooney and co-star Renee Zellweger will attend the red-carpet screening of their new “Leatherheads” movie Monday night.

No tickets will be available to the public for the premiere in the 471-seat Old Washington Opera House on West Second St.

However, people will be allowed to stand along the red carpet, like at the Oscars, and wave to the celebrities, a Universal representative said.

Celebrities are scheduled to arrive at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. screening.

Note to Universal Studios, you can PM me about the tickets.........lol

I don't think any of that crap will stop the women from attending..haha I support the NRA, but I support what Clooney does even more. He has done a great job of bringing awareness to the genocide problems in Africa. You don't see many celebs traveling to places like that to help people out, and see for themselves what is really going on.

Man, am I impressed. This appeared in the People's Online, China

Small Kentucky town -- Hollywood on Ohio River

A small northern Kentucky town will be Hollywood on the Ohio River where George Clooney screens his new movie "Leatherheads" on Monday.

The northern Kentucky town is where the star's root lies. George's father, Nick, said that the actor will visit the town, which is about 16 miles (25.76 kilometers) west of Augusta, Ky., where the star grew up.

Nick Clooney and George Clooney's aunt, Rosemary, were born in Maysville, and the town holds special significance for the family: it's where Rosemary Clooney's movie "The Stars Are Singing" was given its premiere in 1953.

"He knows all about that, and he is very interested in kind of connecting the dots as far as family history," Nick said. "He thinks that would be kind of cool for the family, and one hopes for the town, too."

The Times reported Wednesday that Greenville, S.C., where the movie was filmed, will have its own premiere, probably without Mr. Clooney and the cast. More than 400 extras from the Greenville area are in the film.

Well, I am proud to know that we have a hometown boy that has made it big in Hollywood. Only wish I could of been one of the impotant people to get a ticket. This town will be a mess with the crowds, I heard the Miami Herald will even be here....

I applied for a media pass and was told by The Gods that control all that is Clooney that only 50 passes will be given out. They currently have over 200 applicants.

While I am not holding my breath I do have an alternate plan.

What I love about the Clooneys is that they are so accessible. Without even trying I was able to have two extended conversations with Nick just over the past year. They're amazingly down to Earth too. I was in traffic behind Mr. Clooney last time he was down at the college giving a speech on Darfur, and I'm not sure why but I became fascinated that out of all the cars he could drive (Lexus comes to mind), he drives a Lincoln-Continental from a Northgate Cincy dealership. LOL. It's easy to get starstruck when you have a lot of respect for the man.

I am wondering why so many people on here are negative about a local family (Clooney) wanting to share their success with the community????

I want to thank the Clooney family for bringing this once in a lifetime experience to the streets and people of Maysville.

Let's all have a good time!!!

You're basing your comment on 1 post/comment? Most everyone here loves George. We love George for his entertainment contributions. His World Contributions and most of all, What he has done for our community.

Not to sell the rest of the Clooney family short because it has been all the Clooney's that have brought great things to our area. Rosemary, Nick and George have just the most forefront.

I might disagree with his political views but I am proud that he remembers where Maysville is.
AS for Chucks facination with Renea I would rather him bring back to town Alicia Silverstone......
