Just got this notice about the business lunch and thought I'd pass it on in case any of you would want to order for delivery at your business to help out the Mason County Red Cross Chapter. This is your chance to help out.

Highland Christian Church Business Lunch Benefit
for the Mason County Red Cross Chapter

Monday, March 17th

Cost: $5

We will be delivering lunch on Monday, March 17th to area businesses from 11:00 to 12:30. All proceeds benefit the Mason County Red Cross Chapter.

In case you weren't aware, our local Mason County Red Cross Chapter will have to close at the end of June if $15,000 isn't raised to cover their costs. The local Red Cross Chapter only receives funding from United Way and does not receive any government funding. This chapter was chartered on June 14, 1917 and has served our community through disasters such as fire, flooding, storms, etc. They also hold multiple blood drives which benefit soldiers serving our country. In case of an emergency, the Red Cross will also help military families contact their loved ones.

Highland Christian Church members chose to get involved by helping raise funds for this very worthy cause. We hope you will help us by ordering lunch for your place of business!

Choices:

# of: ___Chicken Salad ____Country Ham ____Pimento Cheese

**The lunch also includes chips, a dessert and a bottle of water.

IF you read the Ledger, you will see that the Red Cross really needs money. This if one of the ways they fund their great organization. Please help support them in any way you can.

The red Cross provides a great service to this community and I think that everyone should help out if they can. As a member of the washington/Maysville Volunteer fire department , I have seen some of the familys they have help in the community and I think their service goes unnoticed sometimes.

I think the United way is a sham! I always thought the Red Cross was on their own.

Either way I think the Red Cross does an excellent job. As a member of Lewisburg Fire Dept. I have seen them help people as well. They have also helped us firefighter out at large fires by providing drinking water.
