If your out watering the animals before dawn Friday, look up.

There will be tons of shooting starrs. Maybe the best for the whole year.

The Quadrantid meteor shower is due to reach maximum in the predawn hours on Friday, Jan. 4th.

Indeed, this may end up being the best meteor shower of 2008.

The Quadrantid meteor shower provides one of the most intense annual meteor displays, with a brief, sharp maximum lasting but a few hours.

The timing of peak activity favors the eastern US. Weather permitting, skywatchers in Maysville could see one or two shooting stars every minute during the peak.

This may be worth actually getting up early or just staying up really late for. Thanks for the heads up Ponto. Does anyone know about what time it will begin?

Found this on Fox News:
According to the International Meteor Organization, maximum activity this year is expected on Friday 1:40 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Thank you. I'll still be up at that hour.

Just looked outside and if you are really patient you can see a few now. What we have seen are really bright and longer that I thought they would.

Did anyone else see the meteors last night or was everyone tucked in their nice warm beds and missed them?

Don't know why it went on with the other post.

At 1:30a last night it was sort of grayed out already but mother said she saw a bright flash in the sky. Sadly I didn't see it, but did someone else?
