Anyone have a recommendation for a good hotel/motel in Maysville or really close by ?Just something clean and respectable and decently priced- looks like there a 4 hotels- Super 8, Hampton Inn, French Quarter & Best Western.
French Quarter Inn looks too fancy for this trip, we'll save that for an occasion.
Are there any cabin rental type places around ?

Just thought I'd check with you all ! We're leaving Thursday very very early.

Thanks in advance

Cabin type rentals around Maysville???
I can think of two places near Maysville with cabin type rentals. D. and H. Western village near Morehead used to have cabin rentals. Or Blue Licks battlefield State park about 15 miles out of Maysville on 68. I dont know what the rates are but I think both have web sites.
On the BBS web site there is a link to information on Blue Licks at the top left of the page just above the date.

Being a nosy neighbor or just curious, what brings you to visit Maysville? I would strongly recommend the French Quarter. Depending on your travel habits/taste you will find it to be fair priced. Where in personal experience, the super 8 may be fine for business - I can recommend no other location. There are no cabins available to rent in this area that I am aware of.

How did you find this website? Were you on city-data.com?

I concur and its also close to good food and shopping. I know during the tobacco buying season that is where the Phillip Morris Buyers stay at. They used to stay in the French Quarter but once Hampton Inn opened they have been staying there and they have only said wonderful things. Good luck and Welcome to Maysville

See post in Welcome Center. I think I did actually find this site @ city data.

I called all of the Hotels today and it does look like the Hampton Inn is the one.
Thanks for all the comments. Geez I can't wait til this is over and we are living normally again- or more normally I should say.

The French Quarter is nice and is walking distance of three good restaurants: The Courtyard on Cherry Alley (great!) on Third St.; Chandlers on Market Street; and Capronis next to the train station. I would rank them in that order, but that's just my preference.

It's a 15 mile drive that will take you 30 minutes, but the Parkview Inn in Augusta has a couple of two bedroom apartments that are rented by the night although they are often booked. They cost little more than a hotel room and are very comfortable, and Augusta is a neat town to spend a day or two. BUT, you are moving to Maysville; I'm just throwing that out there for you. I wouldn't bother staying at the Parkview unless I could get the two bedroom (my wife and I stayed in one when we were house shopping).

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.

See that Chuck?

I think I got ya a hit or two... website traffic that is. This website is a good service.

Enjoy your stay Mrs. D. But depending on where you are from; this may not be living normally. Or it may be. It sure is/was not for me. Although after several years, it is now normal. Now I'm confused.

And Mrs. D, if you are looking to purchase a home in the near future, feel free to contact me as I know of one that will soon be for sale by owner in a desirable location.
