BATAVIA -- Amy Baker's Wednesday appearance in a Clermont County courtroom may be her last in Ohio.

News 5 has learned that her lawyer, Norm Aubin, will move to waive extradition, clearing the way for Baker to be moved to Mason County, Ky.

"The longer this goes on here, the longer Amy stays in jail," Aubin said. "I don't think we're getting anywhere in Ohio. I thought that this was her best option at the time, and Amy agreed."

Baker is accused of helping to dump the remains of Marcus Fiesel into the Ohio River from a bridge. Kentucky officials said an immunity deal granted in Ohio for her testimony against Liz Carroll does not apply to them.

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland agreed to sign off on Baker's extradition at the request of Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher earlier this month.

One possible reason for Baker agreeing to extradition now is that she would begin serving time in a Kentucky jail, which would likely be applied to any sentence she receives if convicted.
