VOLS FALL TO OHIO STATE, 85-84, ON LAST SECOND BLOCKED SHOT

3/23/2007 - A last second blocked shot by Ohio State's Greg Oden lifted the No. 1 Buckeyess to an 85-84 victory over Tennessee in the NCAA South Region semifinals at the Alamodome. Chris Lofton scored 24 points and Ramar Smith added 17 as the Tennessee Volunteers tied a schoool-record with 16 3-pointers.

Tennessee led the 1st half of the game at times by as much as 20 points. UT still manage to hold the led well into the second half when Ohio St. was able to recover and take the lead.

Of the games I watched this season UT played their best game of the year. Lofton end the game with 24 points. (Way to go Chris. You make Maysville proud.)

OSU and Memphis go to the Elite 8 for the South.

We look forward to watching you play next season Chris.

Chris had a great season, and he has a bday coming up next week, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS! Now, since Tennessee is out, hopefully Ohio State can go all the way!
