VOLS ADVANCE TO SWEET 16 WITH 77-74 WIN OVER VIRGINIA

3/18/2007 - How sweet it is! Behind Chris Lofton's 20 points, the No. 25 Tennessee Volunteers advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2000 with a 77-74 victory over the No. 4 seeded Virginia Cavaliers at Nationwide Arena. The Vols get a chance to avenge a regular-season defeat when they face the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in the South Region semifinals Thursday in San Antonio, Texas.

Just a reminder for all the orange heads in Maysville. One year from now there will be a huge yard sale bonanza with tons of Vols apparel cheap on sale. Gimme a break people, this is KENTUCKY. You know the BIG BLUE NATION! So whats next? If Darius Miller goes to Duke are you all going to start wearing Duke stuff and praising coach K like you do Bruce Pearl? Don't answer now but if you are let me know ahead of time so I can go ahead and start packing. This is unbelievable! Not one post about the Wildcats, you know the KENTUCKY WILDCATS...... from KENTUCKY!

Oh and by the way OSU 85 UT 70
yeah that's right!

You know I have always been a KY fan and always will be. I do support our local talent ie: Chris Lofton. I also, however, like to watch exciting games. Sorry but our beloved Cats haven't given much of that lately. I have much more blue in my wardrobe than I do orange but have both and will not likely sell any at a yard sale. If Darius Miller decides to go to Duke good luck to him, but no I will never root for Duke even if my son plays at Duke, which isn't likely. One reason no word on KY did you not see, they are out of the tournament and not much to say. My momma always told me if you don't have nothing nice to day don't say nothing. Well maybe that is what we all decided to do. SAy nothing.

Cause I deleted them for trolling to cause an argument.

We figured a couple of people are not UT fans. Not everyone is a KY Fan. I personally went to UC.

I'm done with it Chuck. I am personally sick of all the UT hype that I don't even hardly enjoy just watching Chris play for the sake that he is from here. And I just don't understand someone saying " I'm a UK fan " and wearing a UT hat, or shirt or whatever. I was born and raised to bleed blue and guess i'll never understand it. Kentucky is the greatest team to ever suit up and play the game, and that's the way it'll always be.

Get over it. There's nothing wrong with rooting for a hometown boy especially since he plays for a team in the same conference as the Cats....a conference that never gets any respect when it comes to the tournament and is doing awesome this year.

So whats next? If Darius Miller goes to Duke are you all going to start wearing Duke stuff and praising coach K like you do Bruce Pearl?

I would never root for Duke no matter what!! According to the talk I've heard Darius is leaning more towards Florida than anywhere else & I'll never root for Florida either as long as Billy Donovan is the coach. And maybe never no matter who the coach is.

We can bleed blue & still pull for Chris and his team to do well.

I wasn't trolling and not trying to cause an argument. Lofton / UT fans were giving their comments and I added mine. No more, no less. Sorry if it seemed otherwise.

I'm done.

Why can't you people just be happy for Chris whether you like the team or not? He's a good guy, and he comes from a great family. he is more of a role model than MOST athletes these days, and I would support him no matter what team he played on. Personally, I am a UC fan, but UC didn't make it that far. Why can't you be a fan of more than 1 team? Sounds like some people need to settle down, personally when I start feeling negative I read the bible!:fear:

jdshep15, I don't ban or delete people of the community unless they are such an issue that I have no other recourse. If you don't like the content or the guidelines I would recommend that you simply just quit logging in.

Now that we have invaded a thread that was to support another Maysvillian with childish non-sense I would like to wish Chris the best of luck for the next game and the ones after that.

I am sorry you cannot tell the difference between a thread that deals with criminal activity and thread that deals with supporting a local to do be the best he can be.
