Mark Bradley of Maysville has put together a column about how two different Maysville boys over a span of 23 years have had an effect on Kentucky basketball.

Interesting reading and lots of feedback.

I'm only half interested in sports, but Mark Bradley is a great Maysville writer. 23 years, eh?

One would think that in the big city of Atlanta Mark would have more to write about. When Chris has graduated this will all slowly fade away unless of course another young man named Miller..................!!!!!

AD signals support for Smith
'TUBBY'S OUR BASKETBALL COACH,' BARNHART SAYS
By Jerry Tipton
HERALD-LEADER STAFF WRITER

UK Athletic Director Mitch BarnhartKentucky Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart yesterday made strikingly more supportive statements about Tubby Smith remaining UK's basketball coach next season.

"Tubby's our basketball coach," he told The Associated Press in an interview. "He's done a great job of representing the platform of Kentucky basketball. We'll always look to make adjustments to the things we've got to do to get better. Tubby and I will do that collectively."

Although that sounded like Barnhart saying Smith would return as coach next season, UK spokesman Scott Stricklin cautioned against drawing any conclusions.

"His hope and his goal and his interest is trying to help all his coaches be successful," Stricklin said of Barnhart. "Obviously, Tubby is his basketball coach right now, and he wants to see him be successful."

In his interview with The AP, Barnhart noted how a statement he made on Feb. 27 had been misinterpreted.

Barnhart acknowledged fan disappointment before pointing out that success in March could put a different spin on the program when it gets the routine end-of-season review.

Some saw that as suggesting a coaching change might be imminent.

"They were reading way too much into that," Barnhart told the wire service.

Barnhart was not available for further comment, Stricklin said.

It has been said many times on this site to follow the money trail. Has KY really done as well as the AD and the board of directors think or am I just stupid? Ok don't answer that. Let me phrase that different, have they been watching another team or do they not watch basketball? Ok it has been said many times follow the money trail, well I think if Rupp wasn't very full on game night then some folks may open their eyes and watch the same teams I've been watching. Hit em' in the wallets ya'all. (There is that KY talk again)
