Our Congress left behind a pile of unfinished business when lawmakers skipped town last weekend.
The delay is jeopardizing thousands of dollars in funding for a community health center for in Maysville.
Democratic leaders who will be running the House and the Senate in the new Congress have said they will ban earmarks for local projects, better known as "pork,'' until lawmakers have had a chance to deal with ethics and lobbying reform next year.
That means that funding for this project could be further delayed, if it is approved at all.
