A Philadelphia maker of seasonal products said Wednesday it ended operations at a Kentucky plant as a cost-cutting measure.

CSS Industries Inc. (NYSE:CSS) said it will merge the operations of subsidiaries Cleo Inc. and Berwick Offray LLC, resulting the in the closure of Cleo's Maysville, Ky., plant.

The number of workers at the plant ranged from about 30 to 40 workers.

CSS manufactures and markets products including gift wrap, greeting cards, Valentines, ribbons and bows, Halloween masks and novelties.

This is Crystal Tissue that is closing again. It was a few years ago that they closed and then reopened a short time later.

Merry Christmas to you too, mark125. Don't fret. The story of the closing appeared in the Ledger Independent. According to local officials, the employees new their jobs were just seasonal. And besides, according to Mayor Cartmell, there are plenty of other jobs out there.
