Tennessee's Chris Lofton, a Maysville, Ky., native, is on the preseason Naismith list.

Through five game, Lofton is averaging 16 points and making 38.9 percent of his three-point attempts.

University of Kentucky junior center Randolph Morris, Indiana University junior forward D.J. White and Western Kentucky University junior guard Courtney Lee are among 50 preseason candidates for the Naismith Trophy, presented to the top NCAA Division I men's basketball player.

Morris is averaging 15.8 points and eight rebounds through five games. Through their teams' first four games, White is averaging 14 points and 7.5 rebounds and Lee 18.8 points and 4.8 rebounds.

Congrats Chris and best of luck. Folks can catch Lofton in action today on ESPN as the Vols face North Carolina @ 4:30 in the NIT consolation game.

Agree Mark125, C-LO has the freedom in Tennessee to do what he was recruited to do, and that is to shoot the rock. He doesn't get that freedom if he is in the blue and white, talking about two different coaches and their systems. When Chris plays UK, I will always hope he does well and history has proven that but in the end without a UK victory I am not as happy.
