There was a time, long, long ago that newspapers had a proofreader for such things.

Even ol' Ponto spent time as a proofreader for three different daily newspapers.

The beginners in the proof department started with long boring copy, then worked their way up to the headlines and front-page stories.

If you were really good, you were promoted to proof read advertising, because in the old days, a business did not have to pay for the ad if it had mistakes in it.

The thought process today is the computer spell checkers work better for less cost.

I think Maysville needs a Ledger appreciation day.

Oh I like the Ledger, Jeremy. I read it daily! I just have this little pet peeve about spelling and grammar.

BTW.. I like the 2 cents!!

I think Maysville needs a Ledger appreciation day.

That would require a vote by the city council.

What are the odds of that happening ?

Totally my fault. Wasn't wrong in the paper only in the on-line edition. That's what happens when you proof your own copy. It's been corrected. Hope "know" one noticed.
