Firefox 2.0 released
At last, Firefox, the freeware browser that's making MS update it's browser, is at a v2.0 milestone.
I just started working with it, Monday (22 Oct). The browser is suppose to be a lot more secure, and bug-fixed. That I can't really test since FF 1.0.5.7 (last version) was almost impossible to crash.
Version 2.0 appears to be as stable as it's last version. The interface isn't changed much from it's predecessor. The tabs have a new 'x' in them, to allow you to turn off individual ones. The phishing controls has more features. You can now tell it to search individual search engines, such as Google for checks. That I tested, and it worked.
It seems also to be a bit faster too; both in loading up, and rendering speed. However the speed differences could be the computer, and connection.
The themes, and add-on is now merged into one unified system. Making it easier to fool with.
To be honest, it feels more like v1.6 should been, and this is what a lot is reporting. All in all, Firefox v2.0 is a worthy download. Just don't expect anything major. In fact, if your really into themes, and add-ons, check to see if the ones you like, now support v2. I've got 3 that doesn't yet. So for that, you may wish to wait for a bit.
