View Full Version : Poll for City Commissioners

Here is the Poll for the Maysville City Commissioners Race
PLEASE VOTE FOR ONLY 4 (FOUR) CANDIDATES. If you vote for more than 4 by mistake just email me with the "Contact Us " and I will be happy to fix it so you can re vote.
Please try to keep comments down to why you choose the candidates you voted for. I will continue to give some latitude to this but i will draw the line at badgering, bickering and trash talking.
These polls are for information and fun. They do not decide any election nor should they. Please don't take them to heart. I hope we hear for the candidates and have a good discussion. Lets not try to scare them off before they get here.
Remember that candidates are reading watching this live. It has to be un-nerving for them. Please cut them some slack

The commissioner s race is a bit confusing for me. I am undecided.
To the candidates, thank you in advance for your time to read and answer questions. I find this site a great way to learn about the potentials.
I too understand that it can be un-nerving to read what the voters have to say, however I think that this whole site can be a learning experience for ALL involved. The voters have an opportunity to voice their concerns, and the candidates have the opportunity to answer and tell what they will do or even why they did vote a certain way.
Thanks to Chuck, Daphne, and everyone else that makes this site a great place.

Haven't seen too much door to door knocking going on with canidates up for election or re-election. I have only seen Judy Pfeffer knock on the door at my residence. Signs are out everywhere in the community, vehicle on the side of the roadways.... but the door to door seems to be lacking.

Rick Litton should be a senator or a congressman. Why he wants to be a city commisioner I will never understand. I vote Rick Litton and 3 others.

He is really sadden by this. If you would like to meet with him I am sure he will see you at his store on W. 2nd St.

I have been knocking on doors and may not have been to yours yet, but plan on continuing speaking with citizens right up to election day asking for their votes.

Great to see a few more commissioners around door to door yesterday. McKinney was around door to door, as a voter it shows me that a canidate really wants to be in office if he or she takes the time to meet the voter face to face. No lazy political strategy by going door to door.

Agree, ofton wondered how in the world that is legal. Must have a "Do not tow" sign also stamped in the windshield.

Can you give a link to the KRS on that. I am sure that is for disabled vehicles. Moving it up that same street or to the other side of the road doesn't qualify as disable.
Basically you saying every business in town can do the same thing?
Glad to see you hanging out at the schools in the mornings. Makes me keep my speed down like it should be.

Nonetheless, its still a hazard and another question is why isn't hazards left on the vehicle. If that was my vehicle left unattended for a period of time, I would be towed. That vehicle promoting the canidate for commissioner is on a major highway therefore especially at night, it becomes a hazard without having flashers on the vehicle activated. This is a canidate that wants to get into office but yet has to campaign from an unattended vehicle. WHODEY 4-2

It's 24 not 48.. for both unattended and disabled...My mistake I assumed that the law hadn't changed. In any event, for the people complaining the city of Maysville has an UNWRITTEN (for User Name) rule that if a vehicle sits longer than 2 or 3 days it will be towed. Unless it impedes the safe flow of traffic. The "if it was my vehicle" people, get a life.. not everyone is out to make your life miserable. If people really think the vehicle sitting there is a real traffic hazard then complain about to the police.

In response to the sign being a distraction to motorists. So is those Pizza special signs with people attached to them jumping up and down.. So is the free car wash people yelling at you and waving signs.. There are a whole lot of other things to worry about than signs on the side of the road...
Claire
October 27th, 2006, 12:55 PM
It is not a distraction for me. But I do find it very annoying. He lost my vote with that. I am sure it was not his intention, but the feeling I get when I see that vehicle on the side of the road is that he thinks he is better than everyone else, like he has the privilege to park where he wants.
I would have thought that the KRS statute was for a disabled car, not a mechanically working one. But I digress....

I don't think a disabled car is a distraction, I think it is a hazard. If it is dark and someone was to veer to the shoulder due to an animal on the road or an oncoming vehicle then they hit a parked car that they didn't see. No cones , no flares, no reflectors. There are lots of accidents caused by this.

My life is not miserable and I am not saying that someone is always out to get me, but the fact of the matter is, if I left my vehicle or most anyone else on here left their vehicle or moved their vehicle to various different spots on the roadways, then law enforcement officials would act upon this differently than obviously they are with this campaign method the canidate is displaying. You see as complaining, I see it differently. There is no way that should be legal to leave a vehicle on the side of a roadway for politcal purposes, much less at night when its dark and not lit. I believe everyone would agree with that.

I know of someone that was coming out of a local business the other day and almost got hit because they couldn't see around that vehicle. I hope you are reading this because I would think that you would be liable if your vehicle causes an accident.
Just my 2 cents, I know, it ain't worth much these days, but it is MINE!! LOL
