Interesting post here...
Until a couple of days ago, like many others, I was looking forward to the long awaited release of Windows Vista. Then the news broke about Microsoft's intention to crack down on software piracy by putting what amounts to spyware on users' computers. Now I'm thinking twice about whether I really need or want this new operating system.

I was pretty sure we reported this at beta 1. I notice during Beta 1 that it checked all software music and videos on the host PC, also license information. I reported that it had the power to report this information back. (This was my opinion back then. Looks like you are just confirming it.)
I can't find the post now it might have been attached to something that was lost during the big server crash last year when chuck had that upgrade problem.

Good, I think keeping it in the mind of the people here, is a good thing. I'm DLing Vista now, and as soon as my new system is built, I'll install it, to see what really this monster does.
Personally I think MS's going to blow their foot off with this, but [sigh] people will think, they have to have this, dispite probably buying it several times when the WGA reports it as fraud, or not being able to run anything on their system. Are you getting that problem?
