Hi folks: As some of you know, I'm an enthistic simulator fan. From Flight Simulator 2004 (MS) to Orbit. Now I found a couple more that may interest people here.
X-Plane, (http://x-plane.com/default.html) is a flight simulator that looks to have graphics and capiablities equal or superior to MS's Flight Simulator X (their newest version) However, if your like me, if you don't have XP, or refuse to buy Vista (which is a requirement now), X-Plane will be what your looking for.
Not only does this have the entire world covered (on 8 DL DVDs - 60 gigs!) but it also is cross-platform too. Linux, Mac or Windows (not sure how far they go on Windows, but I assume 98 at least)
Now they have another simulator too. Space Combat 1.40 (http://x-plane.com/SpaceCombat.html)
I haven't tested this yet, since at the moment, my old system is now in the trash, and I'm waiting for a new system that can handle this, but it looks to be as impressive as X-Plane. This simulator is free, which would appeal to many here, including teachers.
Check them out, and have fun. I know what I'm asking Santa for this christmas (aside from the perannual horse, I HAVEN'T gotten yet. :)
