Hello all. I am hunting for an old Textbook written about 1907 by Andrew H. Steadman for the Cincinnati Ohio Public Schools. My mother was a Steadman and this is her great-grandfather and my great-great-grandfather. I have done a general search and I can't come up with anything. The book is called "Steadman's Graded Lessons in Writing". If anyone has any info on this or could guide me in the right direction please post here or email me. If you would prefer to call send me a pm and I'll get you my cell number. We have been looking for this book for a while now and we've had no luck. I even looked on ebay and there's nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mindy

Im guessing you already tried eBay? If so have you tried asking a store there if they have any leads?

Foxy,
The thing at ancestory.com that you listed above, that is my mom's search and of course it showed nothing. That is why I figured I would try here. I will check out your previous link. Thank you all so much for your help.
Just checked out the jstor website and that isn't it. Sorry but thank you.

FWIW, here is a little more to go on, according to another teacher:
go to www.abebooks.com, and the title they mention is (quote)
Go to abebooks.com for the Whitehouse book.
The title listed, however, is:
Natural Movement Method of Practical Writing; the Whitehouse Educational
System
It was published in 1902.
(end quote)
You might want to ask the seller about the author of the text they have listed, just to make sure.
(paste the title above into the abebooks.com search)
Good Luck!!
