Kentucky's concealed weapons law allows someone to carry a gun in the car, either in the glove compartment "regularly installed in a motor vehicle by its manufacturer," on the seat or in the trunk.
Fadi Mohammad didn't think there was anything wrong with storing a gun in the center console of his car.
When his case went to court, a judge dismissed the charges, saying the center console fell under a provision in Kentucky law allowing guns to be carried in a glove compartment.
But the Kentucky Supreme Court reinstated both charges on Thursday in a split decision issued in Frankfort, saying a center console is not a glove compartment.

This is an old one. You are not allowed to carry a gun in the center console. Too easy to get to. It has to be in the glovebox. That way, at least the cops can see you reach for it. In theory.

why try to conceal it, if you are a Ky resident and meet other requirements you can carry a gun in your care in the open,ie,,,on seat, dash so on

That’s not considered concealed. It’s the same as you can walk down the street with a gun strapped to your hip. Legally, you can do that. But put that gun in your pocket, now you are in trouble if caught. Concealed is the key. If in plain sight, at least officers can see what you’re packing.

Thats exactly what I was thought would be said....
Even simpler solution.... Don't have anything illegal in your car and it won't be searched.

yeah ya know... there are those stupid people with a kilo of stuff in their car, and the car they are driving has expired tags and a busted tail light...lmbo
You all can pull me over and search all ya want... lotsa trash, nothing illegal.
And you can say you would rather they not search your car, but then that leads to them getting probable cause.... then they can search. So best thing is to take TheMan's advice....

If the time ever comes when I start thinking the only way I`ll be safe is to carry a gun (concealed or not) I`ll stay home!!! Roadrunner
