MAYSVILLE, KY- Tina Baker MCTC
As many as twenty hot air balloons are expected to descend on Maysville next year to participate in the first ever Buffalo Trace Balloon Race. Balloon pilots from all over the country will be competing for cash and prizes over this two-day, action packed event.
Balloonmeister Mike Wade visited the Buffalo Trace Balloon Race planning committee on Tuesday to discuss the details of the hot air balloon race next year. The planning committee consists of volunteer community leaders from all across the Buffalo Trace Region. Wade has been involved with hot air balloons for the past 20 years and works with groups all over the United States to coordinates balloon events.
Each year a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a non-profit organization striving to make our community a better place to live. Next year, race proceeds will be donated to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
"We expect this event to be one of the biggest in Maysville history", claims Pam McGlone, Event Chair. "Already, the entire committee has shown a tremendous amount of dedication to the success of the event."
The Buffalo Trace Balloon Race will take place August 17th-18th, 2007. Visit www.buffalotraceballoonrace.com (http://www.buffalotraceballoonrace.com/) for more details or contact Event Chair Pam McGlone at 606-584-7385.
