FreeDOS v1.0.0 released.

After 10 long years, the worlds first GNU/MS-DOS clone is out, and functioning. FreeDOS is a MS-Dos clone, that is released under the GNU license, which means you get the source code, as well as the compiled program to do as you see fit.

It's not only a clone, but an enhancement to the old favorate. It's uses range from running old fun dos games, to use in computer maintance (like FDISK), and even in DOS windows in Windows (where you can use the vastly superior dos command utilities like XCOPY)

You can get the CDs ordered, or DL it from this web site (http://www.freedos.org/). Also plenty of info is available here too.

I've used this for about 2 years now, and it works nice. I'm really looking foward to the copy I'm downloading (a huge 153 megs, have broadband if you want to DL this!). Coming next? ReactOS - a Windows XP clone, that's also GNU liscensed. - Might have to wait for awile for this one, folks :)
