Have a Centrino? (Check your computer's logo)

If you have a computer, with a Centrino

processor by Intel, or any system using an Intel

Wireless Ethernet adapter, is strongly advised

to update their PROSet Softare, and drivers. The

reason is that a security bug was found, that

could allow crackers to remotely hijack your

system.

This is a priority 1 fix for IT deptartments,

and individuals.

Microsoft doesn't have an autoupdate feature for

this, and it's a massive 51 meg download. You

can find more details, on the links provided

below.

Drivers, and software download:

It's not really a processor issue. It is a wireless adapter issue.

It really depends on the Wireless adapter model number you have.

Right click My Computer, properties, hardware, device manager, and see if PROset wireless shows up under network connections..
Also, it could show up in your taskbar too..
