This is just a general post.... as I was driving this past weekend down Tucker Dr. there was a cop who had pulled over a small car. I told my friend... hey it's only 25 through here and there's a cop.

She slowed down to 25 mph... WOW... I thought I could have gotten out and walked faster. This is suppose to be a "short cut" and an access road. I understand that there are reasons that speed limits are set, but 25 is pretty slow through there. It could be at least 35... that would be a safe speed I would imagine.

Next time you go through there set your cruise on 25 MPH and see how many people ride your bumper and give you dirty looks. It's pretty humerous.

Anyhoo... just wondering if anyone else noticed!

Yes, it's a very slow speed, but it still keeps you from sitting through the light at the intersection of 9 and 68 if you're wanting to go to WalMart, Sears, etc. That light can last forever!

If you drive Tucker Drive at 35mph, you'll get to the other side a whopping 15 seconds faster than if you drove 25 mph. Not worth a ticket is it??

Good point, fluffy. You know, the thing I always watch for is not necessarily the driver that is speeding; it's the idiots that think since there are no lines defining two lanes of traffic they can drive in the middle of the road or on the side that my vehicle happens to be in! I think it's time to stripe the road before an unnecesary accident occurs. More regular police patrols might also help ( I know; the city police have many, many roads & streets to patrol, but how long does it take to drive from one end of this road to the other once or twice an hour?)

Accually I did not think it was a short cut. I just thought it was a road the had other local businesses on it.

Fluffy I am sure you're right... just like changing the speed limit on the interstate to 70 --- it's just the whole thought that you are going a little faster, just was an observation. I was actually surprised that they set it at 25 really.

Dpolley--- AMEN! People are always on the wrong side of the road. And it's not just on that road --- I think some drivers skipped that part in drvers ed. People will actually straddle the line ... what's the deal... pick a lane!

Anyhoo.... just thought I would see how many ppl actually were paying attention to this road!

PS -- U bet I would rather drive 25 then sit at that light at 9 and 68!!!

i do not believe it was put in as a short cut I thought it was an access road for the local businesses an to open up more retail space that is why they havent put in any lines down also on another note if you like this road be sure and remember to frequent the businesses on it because the city didnt pay to build it the businesses and property owners did

Maybe they will put a red white and blue center line down the middle.

I am sure the county would like to have one like the downtown city folks do.

Maybe some corporate sponsors could step forward NASCAR style and we could call it the Super 8, Wal-Mart, Kroger, Sears, Honda, access road.

It apprently depends on the car. I can set mine to 30 mph, but mother's is 35 min.

I thought the minimum you could set your cruise was 35mph or least it is in mine.
