The program revolves around a 35-year-old-single man who volunteered to give total control of his day-to-day living to Internet viewers 24/7 for six months without leaving the show's single-family house in New Jersey.

Through an interactive media platform viewers will vote to determine what Kieran Vogel wears, what he eats, whom he dates, to whom he talks, what music he listens to, and much, much more. He will also react to viewer calls and emails.

Kieran, who suffers from various neuroses, waived his rights to privacy and doctor-patient privilege to allow viewers to see his twice-a-week therapy sessions.

If OurPrisoner makes it through the six months, he will win various awards worth up to $500,000. Kieran gets nothing if he doesn't complete his six-month commitment.

Hmmm, neuroses? Sounds to me like someone too lazy to work that has found a bunch of suckers to pay him to sit on his *** all day. Why are "reality" shows so intriguing to so many people? Don't they have lives of their own to worry about instead of watching these "programs" that are flooding the television market today?

This is why I would rather read books. I turn on cartoons for my son, so that is mainly what we watch, although they are on mostly for noise. I read to him every night, so he will get into the habit of doing something other than sit and watch TV, like so many others do. Forget reality shows, and get out and make your own reality.

I agree. If you noticed, the "reality" shows are cut & edited for the 1 hour time slot it's shown on when broadcasted.

That means reality isn't there, it's what the editors wants you to see......meaning......things can ( & probably are changed ) to "spice" up the show.

For example:
Let's use the survivor show as an example....

Ever notice something like this happening??

3 votes to get rid of a candidate.

3 votes to get rid of a different candidate.

.......and........

There usually is a final vote to finalize who leaves the show.

Hmmmm, wonder why that is. Does the voting always come out with that kind of suspense??

I don't think so. I rarely see 4 straight votes ( in this example ) to kick off a candidate.

It's called editing my friends, it adds to the suspense but it also takes out the " reality " of the reality shows.............see ya mark

When television is good, nothing is better. But when television is bad, nothing is worse. I invite you to sit down in front of your TV set and keep your eyes glued to that set until the station signs off. I can assure you that you will observe a vast wasteland.

These are the words of Newton Minnow, Chairman of the FCC in the 1950s.

Nothing much has changed.

There are good programs on today; they're just harder to find. While I am far from being a saint, I don't want certain things thrown in my face when I watch TV. One good thing; with all of the garbage on television these days, I get a lot more reading and research done. I guess I should be thanking the presidents of all of the networks.....

I agree too.

At this house, we only receive the lower 13 channels Limestone Cable offers. I get plenty of time researching my hobbies & other things here on the net and believe it or not......I get a lot more radio time in that TV almost all the time..................see ya mark
