I am currently testing a feature I plan to make Live soon. I need a few people to help test the feature. It is a Scanner of the Local Area Police, Fire and Life Squad.
You can test it here; http://www.maysvillekybbs.com/forums/view.php?pg=es
No promises if it will stay or not. Really depends on how much it cost to operate. Connection to the scanner are limited currently to 50 people for this test.
Please post problem you have here. The test is only available for registered members.
Give it a try and have fun with it.

Audio sounds good; however, I can't tell whether everthing is coming through, seems like there would be more activity.

Sounds good to me. Thanks Chuck I really like this feature. I want to buy a scanner but dont have the money right now to purchase one. This will be a big help until I can get one.

This one on here seems to be working great. We have a scanner at home and the one on here picks up what the one we have does. This is neat. I can hear what is going on when my husband takes his portable one with him.

I like it too Chuck, thanks. How about a list of the code numbers used, is that available?

Sound is very clear. The only issue that I can see that may or may not be able to be fixed is that a 1 1/2 to 2 min delay from real time scanning versus over the internet. I am aware that a delay will be present but is it supposed to be as long as 1 1/2 - 2 mins.

This delay is normal for the way it is setup for right now. It will more than likely stay the same.

Great idea Chuck, since we stay home all the time now we can hear what's going on in our big town. Thanks Chuck

Thanks for the opportunity to test the online scanner. I would very much like to see this added to this already informative site. This would be good to have here in Maysville. FYI on 10-Codes and Signal information you can visit http://www.surffamily.com/scanning/10codes.html#kystate. Scroll down to the Kentucky State Police section. I believe most or maybe all the codes used by KSP are those used by Maysville.

Either it's very quiet out there and everyone is behaving themselves or I just cannot hear the scanner. Any ideas?
Yippppeeeee! I heard it. It works and it's crystal clear. Cool!

Best time to listen is Friday night through Saturday night. That seems to be when the most goes on.

One of the most clever ideas I've seen for a BBS, especially in a local community in a long time. I'd love to know how you are implementing it on the link.
