Corbin police said an attempted scam yesterday involving three men targeting the elderly is similar to incidents in other areas around the state, including Lexington.

Police said two men knocked on the door of an elderly Corbin woman's home and said they were selling linoleum flooring.

The men entered the home and asked about her antiques and other items. The men left through the back door and the woman saw a third suspect waiting in the back, police said.

The suspects left in a white four-door car. Police said the men could be connected to a Maysville robbery where an elderly person was found wrapped in linoleum flooring by men of a similar description

This is another good reason to keep our eyes and ears open. Some crooks just don't get it that in a small town (like Maysville) people talk and word spreads like wildfire. I am just wondering did these men take anything? It is sad that they prey on the elderly. I'll be "waiting" if they come to my home. :D
