Thursday, commissioners heard a proposal from Isaac Jones to name the Old U.S. 68 Hill Rosa Parks Street.

The board wanted to honor the civil rights leader by naming a street for her, but has reservations about that particular road.


Jones said he would take the matter to the people and get back with the city.

I think the new road would be a proper honor. They are right, the old hill will always be the old hill. If it was renamed anything it should be " Buffalo Trail "

I think it'd be a great honor too. She was a great woman, and modest as all get out. Hope we have 'Rosa Parks Street' soon, just like MLK blvd. Now we also need a Corretta king street too.
