Tippedore’s is a Fine Food Restaurant located on the Second Floor of French Quarter Inn.

If you’re like me you never heard of the place. If you’re like my wife, you knew it is a restaurant but thought that it was for guests at the French Quarter Inn Only. Not True.

Back in December my wife and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary and wanted a nice place to dine. Neither of us wanted to run to the big city (spend more time driving than actually being there).

On a chance we stopped in and ask Elizabeth Phillips, the Hotel Manager, if their Dining Room was open to the public. We were glad to find out that it was.

Being in the French Quarter Inn in the past, I expected the Dining Room to be nice, I was not expecting it to be "Elegant". I am talking about elegant atmosphere, Fireplace, an awesome view of the Simon Kenton Bridge and Ohio River. It was too cold to go out on the terrace but that didn't matter, they have glass doors to enjoy the view when it there is bad weather outside.

Now that we established the atmosphere we can move on to the food. I really didn't know what to expect at this point. To give you an idea I thought I was going to have to do Wine, Escargot, Caviar and Vichy Sway. In English that is Expensive Grape Juice, Snails, Fish Eggs and Potato Soup. I only know this from watching TV shows.

Turned out they had a normal menu. We had previously decided on Steak but were not sure it was going to be affordable. After first glance at the menu we discovered the prices at Tippedore’s was very affordable.

The service was outstanding and the staff was very pleasant. We didn't do without on drinks or food. Food portions were large and I can honestly say it was unbelievably good.

Our experience at Tippedore’s was exceptionally pleasant and we learned something. You can dine their anytime, not just special occasions.

If you are like me and like to have the occasional fine dining experience on a low budget, Give Tippedore’s a try. They have a Seafood Buffet coming and once a year the have a Comedy Show. I will post more on the Seafood Buffet and the Comedy show when I get the information.

I have to give Tippedore’s a 5 star for Maysville. If you never heard of it, you can say you have now.

The FQ Inn is only aware of this article because I stopped in to take pictures. Normally I don't let people know ahead of time.

I myself can vouch for great food and enough to fill you up. We have the comedy night i believe on valentines day so it will be great. I know the Chef there and she is the best around this area for steak, seafood and just plain mouth watering cheeseburgers. Come on in you will never regret that you did.

Hey all, I've ate down there too. The food is outstanding and the service is really nice. I work here in the downtown area and I have enjoyed their breakfast and their dinner several times. I also thought the price would be high but it was quite reasonable. The filet of beef melts in your mouth. I will check with the morning server and see if I can get some info on the Comedy Show. We attended last year when Lee Cruse was there, the food was great and the show was a needed distraction from daily life. I would suggest it for the 4th of July also, the fireworks are excellent from there, not to mention the ribs "to die for".

Now I'm interested! But can anyone post a menu, or tell if there's dishes for ones with specialized diets? Low carb, or vegitarian? Or do I visit the salad bar again? [sighs]

I am not sure Kevin. But when I spoke with the lady in charge of reservations, she did say that the full menu would be available for those who do not like seafood.
