A search is underway at this time for a man who broke out of jail in Muhlenberg County.

Kentucky State Police are on the lookout for 23-year-old Jesse J. Pugh, who escaped from the Green River Correctional Complex sometime after 11:00 Monday night.

Pugh was serving a seven year sentence for wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, and receiving stolen property.

He's described as a white male, six-feet tall, 160 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.

Pugh was in his cell during a check at 9:00 PM, but was gone by 11:00. They say he probably jumped the wall of the medium security prison.

(Pugh, who was convicted in Mason County of stealing a car and fleeing police on foot, is serving a sentence of five years on eight counts of wanton endangerment, five years for two counts of fleeing and evading police, 12 months for carrying a concealed weapon and two years each for two counts of receiving stolen property, $300 or more.)

If you have any information about Jesse J. Pugh, you can call Kentucky State Police at (800) 222-5555.
