Aberdeen officers had been tracking B.J. Littleton, of Maysville, who was a suspect in the robbery of the Bi-Lo Gas Station in Aberdeen, Dec. 29.
Littleton was also wanted by the Aberdeen Police Department for burglarizing a residence in Aberdeen earlier this year.
“Wanted posters (for Littleton) were put out everywhere (following the incidents in Aberdeen),” said Aberdeen’s acting police chief Joe Euton. “When we heard it was Littleton (who was responsible for the robberies), I had Kentucky State Police distribute a mug shot to all local businesses.”
The alert put out by the Aberdeen Police Department led Maysville police to Michel Tires, where they cornered Littleton in a bathroom holding a gun to his head and threatening to commit suicide, according to witnesses.
Littleton is currently being held at the Mason County Jail, where he will face charges as a result of the incident.
After serving time in Mason County Jail, Littleton is expected to be transported to the Adult Detention Center, in Georgetown, to await trial on felony charges filed in Brown County.
Charges against Littleton have been filed in relation to the burglary and armed robbery in Aberdeen. In Brown County, he faces a first degree felony charge for armed robbery and a fourth degree felony charge for burglary, according to Euton.
