Wanted to know what anyone else has heard about Nextel leaving the area again.

Have heard (rumors only) that employees have gotten bad checks, that the customers have been lied too. Their have been hundreds of complaints made to Nextel about the service. Customers have tried to get out of their contracts, due to the fact that Nextel will no longer be in the area, and the customers are getting grief over it because Nextel is breaking their end of the contract, and the customer is just trying to get reliable cell service for our area.

Do you have Nextel Service or know of anyone who has Nextel service? What kind of issues have you had or heard? Please share you comments as I would hate to see more customers get burned if Nextel is really leaving again.

Thanks

I am having SERIOUS problems with service with NEXTEL. The main offices are no help, and after I spoke with the main office in Nevada, they say they are NOT getting a tower in Flemingsburg. We were promised that we would have service in Flemingsburg no later than Sept. 2005.
We ended up ending our contract and switching to Cingular, which now has Push 2 Talk, a feature like the walkie talkies with Nestel. We have had no problem with signal strength or any other services with Cingular. And they were cheaper plans with Rollover minutes! I love it!!

There was/is nextel walkie talkie here in Maysville, but that is the only place it worked. So much for "nationwide" walkir talkie service.
We use Cingular's version of the walkie talkie called Push 2 Talk, and it works everywhere, even Flemingsburg, Ripley, Aberdeen, G-town, W. Union, etc.
