With the movie Glory Road set to open in a couple of weeks, WKYT tonight airs a two-hour special (9-11 p.m.) on the life of legendary UK basketball coach Adolph Rupp.
Titled Adolph Rupp: Myth, Legend and Fact, the documentary is the result of more than a year's worth of work by WKYT sports director Dick Gabriel and his staff, and includes interviews with many of the Baron's former players.
Though not tied directly to the Jerry Bruckheimer film, which chronicles Texas Western's win over Kentucky in the 1966 NCAA finals -- the first time a starting five of African-Americans won the title -- WKYT's show does deal with the question of whether Rupp discriminated against African-American athletes.
