View Full Version : Mass Break-Ins in Old Washington

According to my neighbor who had his door kicked in by someone in a smash and grab, Old Washington has had four robberies in the last 24 hours. Apparently, the perpetrators are kicking in the door, grabbing whatever of value they can find, and fleeing. I'm not totally sure if it is four, but I know for certain my neighbor on Green Street was robbed. Heads up!

It was earlier today, during daylight, but I'm not sure about the times of the other three.

Thanks for the alert, Jeremy. This is one good reason for this BBS. Information is presented, and seen *fast*.

Will increase our security - where ever I live ;)

A friend was broken into on Jersey Ridge this week. They went in during the day by breaking a back door window, grabbed and ran.

Looks to be ongoing. Best to take extra precautions.

All of them are occuring during the day, and most the time when people are not at home..

Agreed, Mark. Note to any would-be burglers, and any of the current bunch who's may be reading this. I do have a dog in the house, she is big enough to take some flesh off, she's agressive, and does not treat mean strangers nicely.

Oh, I also forgot to mention, we don't have signs up either..I hear signs like that, makes you libile from some 2 bit lawyer, looking for a fast buck.

That is a true staement. If you have a "Beware of Dog" sign YOU ARE LIABLE. In a court f law, you having that sign means that you are very much aware that your dog is aggresive, therefore if it bites, for what ever reason you are at fault.

I was just going to comment on this when I see kcredden beat me to it. LOL
With my luck, I would get sued for aggrevated assult with a deadly weapon.

Good to know Foxy and Kcredden, I thought it was the opposite. OH yeah, if any of the burglars happen to read these posts and are thinking of starting this crap in the Mayslick/Ewing area, I have a gun within reach, it is loaded, and I AM an insomniac (DAY and night) with a healthy dose of paranoia to boot!!!! PLUS, our dogs outside WILL lick you to death, BWAHAHAHAHAH, but Mommy is ALWAYS on guard :).

Everyone should be looking out for each other this time of year. Desperate people do desperate things. Report any suspicious activity to the local authorities. If no response, then, and only then, RELEASE THE HOUNDS!!

I'd hate to see the crime stats for this area for this year. Seems like every week I hear of a new robbery. Considering how few people live here, and how many crimes are committed, Maysville has a pretty high crime ratio.

With all the convenient stores that have been robbed or broken into within the last few weeks, one would think the company owners would increase man hours allowing two employees to be on duty at night but this is not the case. Economics outweighs employee safety. WHATEVER! Even after an attempted break-in where I work, our allotted man hours had to remain the same.
