The flags are on the new light poles and now the greens are going up.
Downtown is getting in the holiday spirit.

Back in the 70s as a member of the Jaycess we put up the holiday lights, etc with the help of KU. We also put up the flags on holidays.

I am thankful that they do this, i think the lights and decorations are beautiful, however I just wish they would wait until AFTER Thanksgiving. I think Thanksgiving is an important time of the year too. Even if you are not religous, if gives you a great reason to hang out with family and EAT and EAT!

Agreed with you here, Foxy. It'd be nice if they would slow down. By the time christmas is here, I'm sick of it.
BTW love your icon :). But tell me, where did you get it, and how does an anthropamorphic vixen get that outfit on? Mmmmrr! :)

Kkredden, the rule in my house is that NO Christmas decorations go up until AFTER my birthday, November 26th!!
Thank you for the compliment. Watch out as I change often.
As for your other questions, that will just have to remain a secret.
But I am surprised you knew what an anthropamorphic is.

[Chuckles] a most sensible rule. Ours is about the same. Our tree goes up, right after Thanksgiving, IF we're able to move after gobble day. Sometimes it takes a day or so :)
Aww shoot. I'll just have to wonder then, (hehe), but you'd be surpised at what you can learn on the internet, or what you learn as a child, who's an avid reader, and reading things like BullFinch's Mythology in the first grade. I remember being inthralled with the adventures of Pegasus, and Perseus. Wishing I had a pegasi for myself. Helped a lot too, when I started reading about Die Walküre (The Valkyrie) of Norse mythology.
Guess I'll just have to settle for a plain old Arabian, or Paint, hmm? :) I think I can live with that.

i agree that it is a little early, but look at it from the workers point of view. this is easier on them because the weather is warmer right now and they have a lot more work to do after thanksgiving than they do any other time of year (except for after christmas).

So true.
I go both ways on this topic. Too early but needs to get done.

You know tradition in our home is that Christmas tree goes up after Thanksgiving and stays up until after New Year. I have always been told that it is bad luck to take Christmas down before the New Year. And another tradition is to eat cabbage on the 1st day of the new year. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Holiday. kcredden keep up the good work I really enjoy your site.

The Ledger building has joined in on the decorations for Christmas.
The 'ol bucket truck is shown hanging the greens on Limestone Street.
