View Full Version : Hutchison's Grocery 155th Anniversary

Hutchison's Grocery located at 1201 E. 2nd St will be celebrating their 155th Aniversary this weekend on Saturday, October 29th from 9am - 4pm.
They will be having hot dogs, popcorn, and of course their renowned country ham. They will have tents, in case the weather is not cooperative. They will also have their Christmas train display inside. A drawing will be held for a country ham and other items that they will be giving away on Saturday. They will have hats, t-shirts, and balloons.
So round up the kids and go this Saturday and join in the celebration of a wonder store that has been in the area for 155 years.

It is a wonderful old store. I have fond memories of it on my way to Beechwood Park and back as a youngster.

thanks daphne, i have been wanting to try their country ham. i have heard it is the best you can get anywhere.

I was just there for the party. Anyone who knows me knows that free food will get me to go anywhere! WOW!! That is some awesome ham! Everyone was very friendly and the food was great. THANKS!!

It was a great celebration, but it was their 145th anniversary.

Called and confirmed it was the 155th.

Why did channel 10 on TV advertise the 145th anniversary and then have a thank you about the 155th? I wish if it were the 155th those advertising it would have caught it. Sorry, I didn't mean to be a smart alec or anything. I honestly thought it was the 145th.

The radio show Sissy did with Doc Showers last week. Doc stated ( I believe) that it was the 150th. And when Sissy came on she corrected him and reminded him that it was the 155th. Doc then said that he remembered the 150th and apologized for the mistake. It was the same day that I originally posted this thread. But we called just to verify. I know that they had hats and t-shirts for the occassion. Guess we should have bought the t-shirt. lol
