A Mason County grand jury returned indictments against five people Monday, but did not make it through all the cases scheduled after an incident required police officers present as witnesses to unexpectedly leave the courtroom, according to a court official.
A routine call to investigate a break-in turned into an all-day chase for Maysville police Monday.
The suspect had no way of knowing that Sammons is a part-time law enforcement officer and security guard.
Mason County Sheriff's Office, Bracken County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police were called to assist, according to police.
Detective Jeff Hord and police search dog Misho were called to the scene along with MPD's Emergency Response Team. O'Hearn said officers searched from about 12:30 p.m. to 4:20 p.m before giving up the chase and heading back to the station.
Congratulations to Terry Prather for a great photo.
