William (Dick) Whalen, 82, died Sunday Aug. 21 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Mr Whalen was the son of the late Elza Clinton and Addie Kate Highlander Whalen. He is survived by his wife Bonnie. They were married on July 19, 1952. Mr. Whalen is retired from the postal service. Mr. Whalen was in the Navy diring World War II. An alumni of Maysville high school. Mr. Whalen was a Member of the Rotary Club and the Jaycees. Mr. Whalen was a member of the First Christian Church. Services for William (Dick) Whalen will be Wednesday, August 24 at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday August 23 from 6 to 8. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund or the charity of one's choice.

I have many fond memories of Dick when he used to unpire high school baseball games in the late 50s. He was a nice man.
