The big red Blazer the was seen around town in the past left me last Wednesday. Most that have know the troubles I was having are cheering in the background.
The truck had serviced me well with the exceptional door falling off on the AA Hwy and the Trans starting to slip abit. All that considered I will miss that thing.
My wife informed me Last Tuesday that my fuel bill had hit and past the $500 dollar a month mark. (Explains why I been feeling kinda broke yet working twice as hard.)
With that in mind we choose to shop for a new service truck and the options are many. We both decided to focus on fuel economy but it still needed to be roomy. Not a whole lot of options till we looked at the Scion xB, Pronounced Sy-on I believe.
We found a couple to look at after she spent several hour shopping by Internet and telephone. The one that matched the color and style I was looking for was in Lexington.
I was mopping a little and could feel the Blazer begging me not to trade it in. I thought for sure it would be a wasted trip but the truck looked unique so I gave it a shot and we where off to Lexington.
When we arrived it was love at first site. The strange looking beast is technically an SUV the averages over 30 mpg. The performance is much better than you would think or believe from a 4 banger that only has 108 ponies.
Yes, we bought it and I love it. You will see it around town with the same computer service sign in the rear window.
The close friend I lost didn't turn out to ONLY be the red blazer. It also turned out to be the guys that pumped my gas. The 2nd half of the week he thought I was on vacation. I only went in today to get fuel because I missed him. I think I could have made it another week before needing fuel.
The Scion boosts 31/34 on fuel consumption but my first tank and mileage was a little better.
It took $18.00 to fill up or 7.1 Gallons of unleaded. Total mileage on that tank of fuel was 246. That came to 34.65 miles to the gallon. That was Maysville city driving.
Thats right I put 246 mile on a new car in 2 days. The blazer would have been a $40.00 dollar fill up and I would need gas again on Tuesday or Wednesday, I feel confidant I can go a full week without refueling the Scion,
Scion is it's own name but is made by Toyota. Atleast the ones here in the USA are.
If your looking for a fuel mileage car that has some guts on the pedal I can recommend the Scion and Green Scion of Lexington. Stop on down if you want to look at it. i would be glad to show it off.
